Constructive Recruitment is currently working with a civil and landscape contractor in their search for a State Manager. 

Due to exciting growth plans for the Victorian arm of the business, a need has arisen for an experienced manager with either civil or landscape construction experience to join the company. 

The business predominantly focuses on landscape construction projects however, they are beginning to develop their civil construction capabilities working with road authorities, local councils and large contractors/developers. They operate across the East Coast and have been in business for over 30 years. 

The position will report to a national manager and have direct reports on the ground in Melbourne. You will have resources at both corporate and site levels at your disposal along with a long-standing reputation in the market. The role will become an integral part of the company’s growth along with assistance in the development of new areas for the business.

To be successful in securing this role you will be from the landscape or civil industry and have held a similar or senior role within a company specifically focusing on projects between $100k to $20 million. In the role you will also be expected to perform the following;

  • Supervise and Manage State Construction managers and their staff
  • Recruitment and Training of Staff
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
  • Lead Business Development 
  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for the to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Manage and control Divisional expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Liaise with other Divisions to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with requirements for quality management, occupational health and safety and Environmental Management.
