Dutton Park, Queensland is getting a new State Secondary School in 2021, with construction to begin in late 2019. CIMIC Group company and Broad Construction have been announced as the preferred builder for the $130m school development.

“The College will be the first high school built in Brisbane’s inner south in 60 years.

“I am sure the families in our local community will be as thrilled as I am to see the progress on site and I invite them to get involved as we count down the days to the doors opening,” Deputy Premier and South Brisbane MP Jackie Trad said.

Main features of the development include creative learning hubs, a multipurpose hall, administration and staff centre, canteen and health and wellbeing hub as well as a learning plaza, outdoor areas, an outdoor court, car park and a pick-up and drop-off zone.

Throughout construction, the project is expected to support more than 400 jobs. Once operational, the school will have capacity for 1,650 students from years 7-12.
