Chevron’s decision to continue with the second stage of the multi-billion-dollar Gorgon project expansion off Western Australia’s north-west coast has been accepted by the State Government and industry leaders.
Situated 150 kilometres off the WA coast north of Onslow, the latest phase of the large-scale gas project is appraised to cost several billions of dollars and generate hundreds of jobs in the resources sector.
While the major gas sub-sea expansion is underway, new wells in the Gorgon and Jansz-lo fields, drilling, sub-sea installation and pipe-laying are also included in the project.
