Contracts released for Western Sydney Airport construction works

To prepare the site for major construction, WSA Co., the government-owned company building Western Sydney Airport, has awarded two major contracts including the first stage of earthworks.
Lendlease’s joint venture with CPB Contractors has been awarded the Early Earthworks Package, which will see the start of construction work on this much-anticipated infrastructure.
Including realigning Badgerys Creek Road, the Early Earthworks package will involve moving more than 1.8 million cubic metres of earth as well as road and drainage works.
Bechtel was also appointed as global construction partner to manage airport construction and ensure the project is completed with the highest quality standards, ready for passengers and aircraft in 2026.
Bechtel will work with WSA Co. as delivery partner for the duration of the project construction and by late 2019, the first stage of earthworks is scheduled for completion.
