The NSW Government has confirmed the developers of the $2 billion final stage of Barangaroo. Grocon, Aqualand and Scentre Group will be developing the 5.2-hectare Barangaroo Central.

The consortium, led by Grocon in partnership with Aqualand and Scentre Group was nominated by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority. Grocon will be in charge of the office project at Central Barangaroo.

The retail area will be built by Scentre Group and Aqualand will develop the residential sector.

The final stage is located between Barangaroo Reserve and the financial / retail hub of Barangaroo South. With 50% of the site dedicated to public open space, Barangaroo Central will also include a new Sydney Metro station.

Also anticipated is the 14km Wulugul Walk along the Barangaroo waterfront, joining one of the world’s longest continuous urban waterfront walks from Sydney’s Garden Island to the Fish Markets.

Central Barangaroo is due to be finished in 2024 with planning approval sought later this year.
