By Andrew Pope on 29 March 2019
With the approval of the 56 wind turbine farm in south-west Queensland, the Dulacca Renewable Energy project is set to generate 240MW renewable power for the Western Downs region.
Located approximately 250 kilometres north west of Toowoomba, the project aims to stimulate job growth during both construction and operation and help with the continued economic diversification of Dulacca. It will comprise of battery storage and ancillary infrastructures such as a substation, meteorology masts, overhead lines and access tracks.
Over the projected 30-year life of the project, it is anticipated to generate enough renewable energy to power up to 150,000 homes annually and support up to 400 jobs during construction and 35 once operational.
Construction will commence in early 2020 and due for completion by 2021.
