Ferny Grove station in QLD soon to receive upgrade

Located approximately 10 kilometres north west of Brisbane, the Ferny Grove train station is set to be transformed into a transport oriented development (TOD) with $99.6 million upgrade project budget.
Delivered by Honeycombes Property Group and designed by local architecture firm Bureau Proberts, the development project is comprised of three buildings that range from three to six storeys. It will also feature a retail centre with a cinema complex as well as 64 residential apartments and over 2,200 car parking spaces.
With an open facade that will allow cool breezes to pass through and natural light to flood the interiors, the entire project design brings Brisbane’s climate into consideration. Also, it will be incorporating roof tiles that are manufactured from a factory near the train stations, giving a nod to Ferry Grove’s heritage.
Subject to Brisbane City Council’s approval, construction is expected to commence in early 2019.
