Gold Coast Airport hotel gets green light for construction

With the Federal Government giving its approval to the development of a $50 million Rydges-brand proposed by Queensland Airport Limited (QAL), a new hotel is set to rise in the precinct surrounding the Gold Coast Airport.

Aimed at supporting the airport as well as associated businesses in the precinct to continue to thrive and grow, the new airport hotel is going to be seven storeys high and will have views over Kirra beach and across the runway. It will also feature a rooftop bar and a viewing deck. It is also projected to significantly increase the number of people doing business in and around the airport precinct while attracting more investment into the region’s economy.

The Rydges-brand hotel will serve locals as well as onward travellers passing through the Gold Coast, once completed.

Expected to generate up to 90 jobs during construction, works are set to commence later this year.
