As part of the more than half a billion dollar Ballarat Line Upgrade project, a new train station is going to be built at Cobblebank in Victoria.
To be located near Ferris Road in Cobblebank, between Rockbank and Melton, the station is set to be the central feature of a planned town centre which is expected to include community facilities as well as retail shops. It will also include two platforms connected by an accessible pedestrian link with ramps and lifts, sealed car parking, drop-off zones, taxi spaces and secure bicycle storage, bus interchange and shelters, CCTV cameras and lighting, a waiting room with toilets, and covered seating on platforms.
Funded through the State Government’s Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution (GIAC), the new station will be able to service up to 55,000 people once completed.
Construction is set to begin later this year.
