Parramatta Light Rail construction to begin
By Natasha Cookson on 13 June 2018
Stage one construction of the Parramatta Light Rail will start by the end of 2018 – following planning approval – and services are set to begin in 2023.
Connecting Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta CBD and Camellia, the NSW Government has allocated $1 billion for stage one of the Parramatta Light Rail.
Including the Westmead Precinct, the key destinations along Parramatta Light Rail route also include the new Western Sydney Stadium, Powerhouse Museum and three Western Sydney University campuses plus brand-new communities at Camellia and Telopea.
On the other hand, the stage two of the project will connect the Parramatta CBD to Ermington, Melrose Park, Wentworth Point and Sydney Olympic Park.
