Stage 1 of Carseldine Urban Village soon to begin
By Heath Crichton on 22 November 2018
Carseldine Urban Village will see new housing options, public spaces and three intersection upgrades delivered to the area – a transformation that will create strong, long-term community benefits.
The approval of the development application for the masterplan and Stage 1 marks the beginning of four stages of the development with the aim of creating local jobs and driving the economy forward through the construction of new public spaces and housing.
Major works include intersection upgrades at Zillmere Road and Dorville Road, Beams Road and Dorville Road roundabout, and the Carseldine Station park-n-ride entry on Beams Road. In addition, construction is underway on the $6.5 million sport and recreation precinct and soon, the area will also see the creation of an entry boulevard into the precinct and the subdivision of three master lots.
Stage 1 construction will only commence after the sport and recreation precinct will be completed in mid-2019, allowing the local community to maintain an uninterrupted access to open space while works progress.
