With enough power generation capacity for more than 340,000 household in the state, construction has started on Goldwin’s 530MW Stockyard Hill Wind Farm project in Victoria which feature 149 turbines.
By creating 300 jobs during the construction period and injecting more than $5 million into the local economy each year, the construction of Stockyard Hill Wind Far is expected to boost the local economy.
Once completed, the wind farm will be one of the largest and possibly lowest cost, wind energy projects in Australia and by 2019, it is expected to be fully operational.
The government noted that it has set a Victorian Renewable Energy Target of 25% by 2020 and 40% by 2025.
