Strong Month for Mining Jobs

Hiring demand in the mining and resources sector rose in July, with the 5.8% rise the strongest monthly growth since 2013, the latest DFP Mining and Resources Job Index shows.

This robust demand lies in permanent job openings, which went up by 7.3%, and demand increased overall to a significant 42.5% year-on-year.

Temporary and contract roles grew by 3.7%, with the job market undergoing a rise of 41.4% year-on-year.

Job ad vacancies rose 10.6% in Queensland and 4.4% in Western Australia.
