By on 08 October 2018

An $86 million contract has been awarded to Decmil Group to design and construct the Drysdale Bypass from Jetty Road to Whitcombes Road. Victorian Major Road Projects Authority awarded the contract after an early works agreement has been signed in June of this year. Major construction on the project is set to commence this month.

Works include a new six-kilometre shared user path together with a pedestrian and cycling underpass at Peninsula Drive to provide locals with better connections to schools, sporting precincts and residential communities and a six-kilometre bypass that will help improve safety as well as ease the congestion at the heart of Drysdale by providing an alternative and more efficient route for drivers and trucks at Bellarine Peninsula.

Expected to be completed by mid-2020, the Drysdale Bypass will provide a major benefit for the Bellarine by delivering a vital link to schools, sporting precincts and residential communities.
